As a 23 year old (at the time) I was tired of being declined for credit everywhere I applied.  It is true when they say, "having NO credit is often worse than having BAD credit."  We live in an economy where credit is very important.  Generally, you cannot buy a house or car without credit.  This was part of my frustration when I heard the word declined every the time I applied.
