Frank Renou
President and Chief Executive Officer

A graduate of the University of New Brunswick with a degree in Commerce, Frank has been employed in the financial industry for the past thirty years. Throughout his career, he has been involved in all aspects of the finance industry with an emphasis on lending and management. As a founding officer of Peoples Trust in 1986 he has served as President & C.E.0. since 1991. Frank is primarily responsible for the company's overall operating performance. Other duties include corporate and strategic planning as well as intergovernmental relations.

Derek Peddlesden
Executive Vice President and C.O.O.

Derek graduated in the United Kingdom with an honours degree in Chemistry. He then went on to obtain his Chartered Accountant designation, specializing in real estate and financial services. Having moved to Canada in the late seventies, he commenced his career in Financial Services as a senior manager in a Canadian Chartered Bank and then moved into an executive position in the Trust industry. Over the past 20 years, he has held a number of executive positions, firstly in Finance and subsequently becoming involved with general operations. Since joining Peoples Trust in 1993 as Chief Financial Officer Derek has taken on progressively more responsibilities culminating in the current position of Executive Vice President and C.O.O.

Barrie Battley
Senior Vice President

Barrie attended the University of Western Ontario and graduated from Lakehead Teachers College. Shortly thereafter, he became part of the investment industry, focusing primarily on institutional accounts. During the past thirty-five years he has held management and executive positions, and in 1987 joined Peoples Trust Company. In his present position as Senior Vice President, he is responsible for all areas of mortgage-backed securitization, and the placement of CMHC insured loans to investor clients.

Kathleen Klassen
Treasurer & Vice President, Finance

With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Kathleen brings a unique blend of experience to her position. After graduating from the University of British Columbia, Kathleen joined the Canadian subsidiary of a large foreign bank in a commercial credit role. While with the bank, Kathleen spent some months working at the bank’s U.S. subsidiary. She then went on to work for the Provincial regulator of financial institutions before moving on to fill treasury and other senior finance roles within the BC credit union system. Prior to joining Peoples Trust in March of 2005 as Vice President Finance & Treasurer, Kathleen held the position of Chief Financial Officer of a locally-based credit union. Kathleen is a Certified General Accountant, a Chartered Financial Analyst and completed her Masters of Business Administration degree in October of 2005.

Julie Berks
Senior Manager, MBS and Mortgage Banking Administration

Julie joined Peoples Trust in August 2007 and as Senior Manager, MBS and Mortgage Banking Administration she oversees the administration of both the corporate and investor owned portfolios. She has a comprehensive background in real estate and has held management positions in the mortgage finance and mortgage software industries for over thirty years. She has extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of mortgage administration and asset management, including construction financing, participation lending, and CMHC insured financing.

John Nation
Senior Manager, Mortgage Administration

With over 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry, John has held management positions at several Canadian trust companies and a national bank. John has acquired substantial experience in both the underwriting and the administration of residential and commercial properties, including project development financing. Other areas of expertise include mortgage banking, leasing administration, property management and systems development. In his most recent capacity, he was employed by a national bank and held the position of Director, Residential Mortgages and Administration. John joined Peoples Trust Company in December 2003 and in his position as Senior Manager Mortgage Administration is responsible for the mortgage portfolio produced by the branch network.

Jeanette Curtis
Senior Manager, Deposit Services

Jeanette has been in the financial services field for many years, specializing in RRSP and Term Deposit Investments. As the Manager of this area she is responsible for maintaining the high level of service that our clients have come to expect. Since joining Peoples Trust in 1989 she has built an efficient, personable unit, characterized by experience, dedication, effort and commitment, which takes pride in providing excellence in customer service.

Dennis Dineen
Vice President, Commercial Mortgages

With a degree in Finance from the University of British Columbia, Dennis commenced his career as a Senior Commercial Loans Officer with a large Canadian trust company. Since that time he has held senior management positions with various national and regional financial institutions focused primarily on commercial and construction financing. As Vice President, Commercial Mortgages, Dennis is responsible for commercial real estate lending and conventional mortgage banking for Peoples Trust Company on a local and national basis.

Dennis Aitken
Vice President & Regional Manager-Prairie

A graduate of the University of British Columbia, majoring in Finance and Urban Land Economics, Dennis has been active in the real estate finance industry for many years. He has held senior real estate financing positions with major Canadian and American financial institutions. His experience includes all components of real estate finance, with a recent focus on conventional and CMHC insured construction and term loans. In his position as Regional Vice President, Dennis concentrates on expanding Peoples Trust's CMHC insured and conventional loan portfolios in the Prairie Provinces.

Michael Lombard
Vice President and Regional Manager - Ontario

After graduating with a degree in Economics from York University in Toronto in 1987, Michael commenced his career in commercial lending with a major Canadian Bank. He has since held Senior Management positions at various major financial institutions. Mike has spent his entire career focused on the Ontario market, with the last 10 years concentrated on Real Estate finance. His main areas of expertise are conventional and construction finance. As Regional Vice President, Michael will focus on building our presence in the Ontario market, with a focus on commercial conventional, CMHC insured, and residential mortgages. Michael is very active in his community, coaching various minor sports teams, and is also presently pursuing his MBA.

Brian Kennedy
Vice President & Regional Manager - B.C.

With a diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia and a Diploma in Realty Appraisal from Langara College, Brian entered the financial industry over 30 years ago. Starting with a large real estate appraisal firm, he held management positions at several financial institutions before joining Peoples Trust in 1992. Brian is responsible for new business in the areas of conventional, commercial, CMHC term and CMHC construction loans for the BC Region. He is past President of the Mortgage Investment Association of BC, a past Governor of the Real Estate Institute of BC, and is currently Chair of the Coast Foundation Society, a non profit housing foundation serving consumers with mental illnesses.

Tom Wollner
Manager, Residential Mortgages - B.C.

Holding both AMP and RI(BC) designations, Tom has been active in residential lending since 1978. He has held underwriting positions with several Canadian trust companies before joining Peoples Trust in 1989. As Manager, Residential Mortgages, Tom's responsibilities include production and underwriting of equity loans in the B.C. Region.

James Pell
Manager, Residential Mortgages - B.C.

James started his financial services career 14 years ago as a mortgage broker immediately after finishing his B.A. at SFU. After 6 years as a broker he joined the lending side where he was an underwriter and then broker centre manager with both Subprime and Prime Lenders serving the mortgage broker community. James joined the Peoples Trust team early in 2007 as Manager, Residential Mortgages. James believes strongly in continuing education and holds both his CFP and AMP designations.

Phil Fiuza
Assistant Vice President, Mortgages - Ontario

Phil began his financial career in 1987 at Victoria and Grey Trust while still attending York University. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Phil moved on to Household Trust, one of the few institutions at the time that sourced all of their business from the Mortgage Brokerage community. Throughout his career Phil has performed a variety of functions within the financial sector, from Mortgage Lending, Marketing and Third Party Outsourcing. Since joining Peoples Trust in 2004, Phil’s primary focus has been in building the Single Family Sub Prime mortgage origination and underwriting facilities in our Ontario Regional office.

Jonathan Wong
Manager, Commercial Mortgages - B.C.

A graduate of UBC and the University of Toronto with degrees in Economics and International Relations, Jonathan joined Peoples Trust in 2008 after a 20 year career as a senior commercial lender with a major Canadian Bank. Throughout his career, Jonathan has been involved in all aspects of commercial real estate financing in British Columbia. As Manager, Commercial Mortgages – BC, Jonathan is responsible for commercial real estate lending and the development of new business in the areas of conventional financing for mortgages and construction and CMHC term and CMHC construction lending for the BC Region.

Doug Eveneshen

Manager, Commercial Mortgages – Prairie

Doug is a graduate of Simon Fraser University with an Executive MBA. In addition to being a Certified Treasury Professional with the Association of Financial Professionals in the United States he has a number of other academic credentials relating to finance. Employed in the finance industry for over 23 years, Doug has held a number of senior management positions in both retail and commercial finance in a variety of locations. Most recently he oversaw large institutional cash & treasury management clients of major financial institutions. Since joining Peoples Trust as Manager Commercial Mortgages, Prairie Region in February 2008 Doug has focused on expanding Peoples Trust’s reputation for excellence. He is responsible for development of conventional and CMHC insured commercial term loans for Peoples Trust in the Prairie Provinces.
