TORONTO, April 23, 2025: Peoples Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Betty DeVita to its Board of Directors. Betty brings a wealth of global executive experience and a proven track record of leadership in digital transformation, consumer financial services, and payments to the organization.
Betty has a strong history of board service, having chaired and served on multiple private and nonprofit boards and committees. These include her roles as Chair of the Ted Rogers School of Management advisory board at Toronto Metropolitan University, as an independent director at the Molson Coors Beverage Company, and as a current board member for both Popular Inc. and Home Capital Group.
Currently, Betty serves as the Chief Business Officer and a board member at FinConecta, a technology company focused on accelerating digital transformation and open banking through its API platform. She is also the Founder and CEO of BetDevSolutions, a fintech advisory practice that collaborates with early-stage and emerging companies on strategy, value creation, partnerships, and global scaling.
Betty’s illustrious career includes serving as the Chief Commercial Officer of Digital Payments & Labs at Mastercard from 2015 to 2019, where she commercialized innovations such as a digital order-ahead payments platform and an Internet of Things commerce platform. Prior to this, she held the position of President of Mastercard Canada, where she oversaw the company’s enterprise with a strong focus on growth and innovation. Earlier in her career, Betty held increasingly senior roles at Citi from 1982 to 2010, with responsibilities spanning Latin America, the United States, and Asia, culminating in her role as Chair and CEO of Citibank Canada Inc. during a critical period for the global financial landscape.
Betty has also served on the executive council of the Canadian Bankers Association and was recognized for her significant contributions to the industry with her induction into the Women’s Executive Network Hall of Fame in 2014 as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women.
