Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation
The Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) is a federal Crown Corporation. It was created in 1967 to provide deposit insurance and contribute to the stability of Canada’s financial system.
CDIC insures eligible deposits at member institutions (up to $100,000 per depositor) and reimburses depositors for the amount of their insured deposits when a member institution fails.

Founded in 1987, the Registered Deposit Brokers Association (formerly Federation of Canadian Independent Deposit Brokers (FCIDB)) is the national association of Deposit Brokers.
Numerous hours have been spent communicating with the Securities Commissions in several provinces; interaction has been maintained with the CDIC and other legislative bodies such as the Ministry of Finance, Senate Banking Committees, Regulators and others. The Federation is the only organization that specifically represents the interests of deposit clients and independent deposit brokers.
